MEKHALA LEARNING CENTRE

Opened in 2009, Mekhala Learning Centre encourages a culture of learning in the local Prey Veng community. The only educational centre in the province, it provides locals with free access to computers, the internet and a library. It also offers six week English lessons, enhancing employment prospects within the community.

In addition, Mekhala Learning Centre provides the girls at Mekhala House and the local community with a structured program of skills-based workshops and English language short courses. The curriculum is innovative and refreshed frequently to ensure learning remains interesting and relevant. Building the competence and confidence of community members, enables the attainment of better educational outcomes across the community and successful transition into the workforce.

A culture of learning is encouraged across the broader community through educating student's families, teachers and public servants. Through Mekhala Learning Centre, Cambodian Kids Can is enabling the local Prey Veng economy to prosper.
