We welcome you to join Cambodian Kids Can (CKC) at our 2016 Gala Dinner to raise funds for young women’s education in rural Cambodia. Your support of this unforgettable evening will make a true difference in the lives of young Cambodian women and for the future of this developing nation.
A unique opportunity to support two great causes ….the Gala Dinner event will be catered for by the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, ensuring ongoing local initiatives in Melbourne to empower refugee and asylum seeker communities.
Our annual Gala Dinner is all about creating connections. It is an opportunity for friends, donors and corporate partners of CKC to come together and celebrate a year of milestones at CKC and raise much needed funds for Mekhala House and Mekhala Learning Centre.
Attended by an average of 120 friends, the dinner is without doubt the highlight on the Melbourne event calendar.
The night will include a delicious three course dinner served by the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, live entertainment from acclaimed Melbourne band, Phoebe and the Night Creatures, Cambodian cultural entertainment and a live video link to the girls in Prey Veng.
An old Khmer proverb told locals that “men are gold and women are white cloth” but at CKC we know the opposite is true. To celebrate the strength, determination and potential of young women in Cambodia, we invite you to wear ‘A Touch of Gold’ to this year’s Gala Dinner.
We look forward to seeing you on the Wednesday the 6th of July!
