DSC_0392Your support will empower young women like Ratha through education. Ratha hopes to learn how to draw and become an artist. She is grateful for the support of people like you, who are helping her to have a brighter future. Ratha would like to share her story and her thanks.

“Hello my name is (Ratha) I am 17 years old and I came to live at Mekhala House a long time ago).

I used to live in a house that would flood from heavy rains and my grandmother, mother, brother and I would have to stay with neighbours.

My father died when I was young so I helped my mother with the household duties of cooking, farming buffalo, planting rice and selling bamboo. DSC_0205Helping to support my family meant I could not go to school regularly.

But now I have the chance to study and for a different future. I have enough food to eat, a place to stay, proper clothes to wear, and pocket money to go to school.

I hope to be a good artist one day; I love to draw, listen to music and read books.

With your help I can continue my education and support my community. I would like to say thank you to all the donors P1010271 who are living in Australia that support me.

Thank you very much and I wish you all happiness, success and especially good luck with everything you do.”
